Grants and tuition awards for graduate students are limited and funding is up to the discretion of each program or department. The Office of Student Financial Assistance does not have grant funding available for the graduate population.

Decisions for department funding at the graduate level are made at the time of admission. Students who are interested in funding opportunities are strongly encouraged to fill out the necessary prompts in their admission application signifying their interest in funding.

Information about departmental funding can be found on the Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships website, and they recommend that the student consult the department’s webpage or contact them directly. Departments handle most of this funding directly. Some of these fellowships are only available to incoming students, and awardees are determined by the strength of their admission application.

Grant funding or tuition awards will impact the amount of loan money that may be borrowed. Any awards should be reported to our office on the Verification of Outside Awards Form.

Students interested in the TEACH grant can learn more by visiting the Graduate School of Education and Human Development (GSEHD) website.
