Policies - Dependent Child Care

Students may request a cost of attendance appeal to include an allowance for dependent care during academic activities such as class time, study time, field work, internships, and commuting time. GW will include up to $2,200 per month per child, divided by the number of parents in the household. Please note private school tuition for children in elementary school or above cannot be included. To request a dependent care allowance, the student must submit a letter explaining the need for childcare that also includes the ages of the children, along with a receipt or invoice for the amount the family is paying.
