ROTC Programs
Navy ROTC is offered on campus at GW. Army and Air Force ROTC programs are offered at Georgetown University and Howard University, respectively. All ROTC programs are handled by the Student Accounts Office which bills the branch of the service that is sponsoring the student.
The role of our office is to coordinate financial aid with the ROTC benefits. The Navy and Army cover full tuition and fees, so we will process any federal aid for which the student is eligible. The Air Force has different schedules ranging from full tuition to partial tuition. We will process federal as well as university gift aid as appropriate.
For students who enrolled at GW prior to Fall 2015:
Navy, Army and Air Force ROTC scholars who major in mathematics, chemistry, physics, geological sciences or engineering may receive up to $4,000 toward the cost of GW campus housing and meals. The grant is renewable if the student remains in the ROTC program with a qualifying major. Awards are made automatically by our office and do not require application.
For new students enrolling for Fall 2015 and beyond:
Navy, Army and Air Force ROTC scholars who major in mathematics, chemistry, physics, geological sciences or engineering may receive up to $6,000 toward the cost of GW campus housing and $2000 for meals. The grant is renewable if the student remains in the ROTC program with a qualifying major. Awards are made automatically by our office and do not require application.
Those who are non-STEM ROTC students will receive $2000 towards GW campus housing and $2000 towards the meal plan.

The George Washington University Office of Military and Veteran Student Services (OMVSS) is committed to providing our student veterans, dependents, and military personnel with both student support services and student administrative services.
OMVS processes payments from the VA and to a certain extent, is able to act as a liaison for military education benefits between the VA and GW. They handle both Post 9/11 and Yellow Ribbon awards. GW will match Yellow Ribbon awards that are made. Neither Post 9/11 nor Yellow Ribbon Awards are counted as a resource in determining Title IV federal aid eligibility.
Active duty military personnel may also use the Department of Defense (DOD) Tuition Assistance (TA) Program at GW. Students should confer with the education office of their service branch for information on TA procedures.
Contact OMVSS for assistance and more information about their services.
